National Agriculture Week is a week that we get to honor our farmers and celebrate agriculture in our communities. Today we celebrated by hosting our 5th ag awareness breakfast hosted by the Warren County Agriculture Foundation’s Ag Awareness Committee. I always walk away from these events so proud of agriculture and blessed to be a part of an agricultural community so passionate about farming and rural lifestyle that I thought I would share some of my joy!
First thank you to the 350 attendees who chose to celebrate ag week with us! On a Monday morning after the springing forward of an hour due to daylight savings time! We appreciate your support of agriculture.
Thank you to the sponsors of event without your generous donations, the ag awareness committee would not be able to host the breakfast or other events throughout the year. Sponsors are listed below!
The ag awareness committee deserves recognition for the hard work they do throughout the year to promote agriculture! They volunteer their time and make the committee a priority in their already hectic schedule! Committee members involved in the breakfast are listed below.
Our invocation was so moving, saw some people tearing up afterwards. Thank you Gregg Farrell, Senior Pastor at Crossland Community Church for your appreciation for the farmer. This man can preach! If I didn’t already have a church home, I’d be coming to see you on Sundays.
The message was spot on today. Delivered by Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles and Keynote Jeff Nalley, attendees were made aware of “The State of Agriculture and What’s Next?” Thank you for spending the morning with us.
Of course in agriculture we have to talk about the food. Dafnel and the ladies at Sweet Temptations did not disappoint. The food was amazing. I didn’t get to enjoy mine until 9:30 but it was still great then!
One of the things I was most proud of today, was the participation of our next generation of farmers. All five of our FFA chapters in Warren County were represented today at the breakfast! I arrived at 6:30 am and there was already a sea of blue jackets ready to help serve and illustrate the importance of agriculture through their actions! Thank you FFA advisors who work with this fine group of agricultural leaders.
